HEPATFrequently Asked Questions

To date our greatest success has been HEPAT™. Marketed at Liqua Health Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd, HEPAT™ is a popular over-the-counter supplement for general well-being.

Purely herbal based, it contains ingredients formulated to boost the body's detoxification process. It offers a refreshing alternative for consumers concerned with the side effects of taking chemical or synthetic drugs.

Taking safety and efficacy to the highest levels, HEPAT™ is currently undergoing in vivo studies by Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to evaluate its antihepatotoxicity (hepatoprotective / liver protective) effect against tetrachloride-induced liver damage in rats.

Such testings are routinely employed to demonstrate therapeutic efficacy or to assess toxicity of novel therapeutic compounds.

Liver Enzyme Range in Normal Adults

AST
(Aspartate aminotransferase)

Male & Female: Not exceeding 42U/L

ALT
(Alanine aminotransferase)

Male & Female: Not exceeding 48 U/L

GGT
(Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase)

Male: Not exceeding 65 U/L
Female: Not exceeding 45 U/L

AST (Aspartate aminotransferase) is in high concentration in heart muscles, liver cells and skeletal muscle cells. This test is to primarily diagnose and monitor the course of liver disease.

ALT (Alanine aminotransferase) test is used to determine if a patient has liver damage. Its highest concentration is in the liver and an indication of liver injury results in release of the enzyme into the blood.

GGT (Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase) This test is used to detect diseases of the liver, bile ducts and kidney. GGT is elevated in hepatobiliary diseases.
